The Borneo Earless Monitor Lizard

This lizard looks like a miniature dragon from mythology. It has a long, slender body, a forked tongue, and no external ears. It lives in the rainforests of Borneo, where it burrows underground and hunts for worms and insects. It is very elusive and secretive and was only discovered in 1877. Since then, it has been rarely seen by humans, and very little is known about its behavior and ecology.
