The Japanese Spider Crab
The Japanese spider crab is the largest living arthropod and the longest-legged of all crabs. It can grow up to 18 feet long from claw to claw and weigh up to 40 pounds. It has a hard exoskeleton that protects it from predators and a pair of pincers that can crush shells and bones. It lives in the deep waters of the Pacific Ocean, where it feeds on dead animals, plants, and mollusks. It can live up to 100 years and can regenerate lost limbs.
