The African Elephant
The African elephant is the largest living land animal and the most intelligent of all elephants. It can grow up to 13 feet tall at the shoulder and weigh up to 13,000 pounds. It has a trunk that can lift up to 770 pounds and tusks that can grow up to 10 feet long. It lives in the savannas and forests of Africa, where it feeds on grasses, fruits, bark, and roots. It can communicate with other elephants using infrasound, low-frequency sounds that can travel for miles.
