The Polar Bear
The polar bear is the largest living bear and the most carnivorous of all bears. It can grow up to 10 feet long and weigh up to 1,500 pounds. It has a thick fur coat that insulates it from the cold and a layer of fat that provides energy and buoyancy. It lives in the Arctic regions, where it feeds mainly on seals that it catches on ice or water. It can swim up to 6 miles per hour and can smell prey from miles away.
