Your retina has about 120 million rods and 6 million cones, which are the cells that detect light and color respectively. The resolution of your eye depends on how many cones you have and how densely they are packed in the center of your retina. According to some estimates, the resolution of your eye could be around 500 megapixels, which is much higher than any camera or smartphone.
