A tigon is a hybrid between a male tiger and a female lion. It is the opposite of a liger, which is a hybrid between a male lion and a female tiger. It has the stripes of a tiger and the mane of a lion, but it is smaller than both parents. It is usually sterile, but there have been some cases of fertile tigons that can produce offspring with other cats.
