Nana Aba Blasts KNUST Authorities Over Hefty Hostel Prices Increment. Following the uproar and unrest after the some authorized hostels of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology decided to add an additional Ghc1000 to their existing hostel prices, a large number of students haven’t been at peace because the new hostel prices is far from affordable unless whoever willing to pay got access to a five star living.
Within the space of a year, hostel prices have skyrocketed to a 40% increase somewhat doubling the original prices. What used to be Ghc2000 is now exceeding Ghc3000 and all for the accommodation of students on a single bed in the space of 8 months. It is even surprising to see that a one in a room package is now over ghc7000.
Students just can’t seem to fathom this new development as they hunt for new accommodations especially first year students of the traditional halls who needs to be quick in making reservations elsewhere as the prepare to be evicted out of the traditional halls which will now be reserved for the next batch of freshers.
EIB network mogul and TV Presenter Nana Aba Anamoah is the latest high profile personality to add her voice concerning this daylight robbery which goes on untackled. She took to her Twitter profile to question the school authorities about the development and blasted them for turning a blind eye to such a crucial issue.

Whiles the school continues to give the blind eye, sources close indicates that the school itself is about to surprise students even further with their new prices for accommodation. A move which reportedly influenced approved private accommodation providers to increase theirs aswell.
