5. The Lion
The lion is one of the largest and strongest cats in the world, and also one of the most iconic and majestic. It is found in the savannas and grasslands of Africa and Asia, where it can grow up to 10 feet long and weigh up to 550 pounds. It has a golden fur coat with a distinctive mane for males and a long tail with a tuft of hair at the end. It lives in groups called prides, where it hunts cooperatively and defends its territory. It can prey on animals such as zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, antelopes, giraffes, or elephants. It can also attack humans, especially if they are sick, injured, or old. It can kill up to 250 people per year in Africa, making it one of the most dangerous predators on the continent.
