8. The Tsetse Fly

The tsetse fly is one of the smallest and most annoying animals in the world, but also one of the most dangerous and deadly. It is found in the rural areas of sub-Saharan Africa, where it feeds on the blood of humans and other animals by biting them with its proboscis. It can transmit a parasitic disease called sleeping sickness or African trypanosomiasis through its saliva, which affects both humans and animals. The disease can cause symptoms such as fever, headache, fatigue, confusion, coma, or death. The tsetse fly is responsible for over 10 000 deaths per year in Africa making it one of the most lethal animals on the continent.
