Johnnie Hughes on TV3’s The Big Issues engaged 3 panelists on his show. Two of them came from the 2 biggest political parties in the country. According to Edem Agbana, President Akufo-Addo and the National Security apparatus need to be investigated for the allegations brought against them by Serwaa Broni. He noted that it was shameful for such a thing to be said about the president. Edem called on the president to sue Serwaa if she was peddling lies.
After Edem spoke, Dennis Miracle Aboagye, the Director of Local Government, Decentralization and Rural Development at the Office of the president was also given time to talk. However, before Dennis started, he notified Edem not to interrupt him when he starts and also told Johnnie that he had given about 15 minutes to Edem to accuse the president. He requested for equal time.
Johnnie however didn’t take this lightly as he called on Dennis not to start with his propaganda. According to Johnny, Edem never spoke for 15 minutes and so it was erroneous for such claims to be made on the show. He charged Dennis to give his comments on the topic being discussed and stop being petty. According to Dennis, the charges against the president are sponsored by the NDC. he called on Ghanaians to disregard the rumors.
